C&R Press $1,250 Award for Prose (Fiction or NonFiction) 2026 - Extended Deadline 10.31

$1,250 finalist prize and publication for a novel or short story collection, memoir, essays, or hybrid prose text. No maximum page count. All manuscripts will be considered for standard publication in addition to the prize. We aim to announce winner, finalists, and longlist in December 2026, but we are often extended into Jan/Feb (Thanks for your patience while we read). The selection will also receive a promotional campaign across social media and other ad networks valued at $2,000.
Submissions are read blind. We also observe the CLMP Contest Code of Ethics. Submission Guidelines: Include a short summary of the book as well as a longer synopsis (250 words max). Please include bio. Manuscript Formatting Guidelines: 12 point font, Garamond or similar style, Double Spaced. ***please remove all identifying marks from the submission*** Deadline Sept 21, 2026

- Simultaneous submissions are permitted, but please inform us promptly if your work becomes unavailable.
- The prize is considered an advance against royalties.
- We issue a standard royalty-based contract.
- Each prize selection receives a media campaign valued from $500-$2000.
- C&R Editors determine all prize selections.
